Typically, case studies are the description of a specific situation that includes the following components: (1) A decision-maker who is dealing with a dilemma, challenge, or problem that needs to be solved; (2) description of the issues’s background and current context: the industry, family, challenges to the success of the enterprise; and (3) information that is relevant to understand the case and provide recommendations. The information can be any number of different things, such as tables, links to web sites of many kinds, quoted statements or testimony, supporting documents, images, video, or audio. What are you expected to achieve in analyzing a case study? 1. Choose the case study that you find most interesting and that you will enjoy researching and writing on. There are three case studies for you to choose from: Castleberry, Stephen and Stephen Espel. (2018). “Student Attendance At Campus Sporting Events: How Can We Get Them There?” Journal of Business Case Studies, Volume 14, Number 4. Retrieved from: https://clutejournals.com/index.php/JBCS Cox, Marcus and Robert Mitchell Crocker. (2018). “Green Leaf Grocery – Executive Compensation Case Study.” Journal of Business Case Studies, Volume 14, Number 1. Retrieved from: https://clutejournals.com/index.php/JBCS Forrer, Donald, et.al. (2019). Water Crisis In Flint Michigan – A Case Study.” Journal of Business Case Studies, Volume 15, Number 1. Retrieved from: https://clutejournals.com/index.php/JBCS Please make sure you post your case study selection and notify via posting in the appropriate Wk 2 discussion board the title of the case and a brief reasoning for why you are choosing this case. 2. Read the case carefully. As you do so, please make sure you can start to articulate answers to the following questions. You are not required yet to write down the answers, but I suggest you make notes about them, since they will be helpful as you prepare the 2 assignments (PowerPoint presentation and written report). These are the questions to consider as you read the case: Five Key Questions: Case Study Analysis and Recommendations • What is the issue? • What is the context of the problem? • What key facts should be considered? Discuss the factors that are affecting the issue and may affect the outcome of the case. • What alternatives are available to the decision-maker? In the case of a case study based on a past event where the outcome is already known, you can focus on the alternatives that were present at the time; also think about the reasons why the decision-makers decided for the course of action they did (or why they did not make decisions, if that is the case). In the case of a case without an outcome, evaluate the alternatives and their pros and cons. • What would you recommend — and why? Important note: if the case study is referring to a past event, you can rephrase this question to address ways in which the negative outcome could have been avoided, and what strategies, actions, and/or organizational changes should take place to avoid repetitions or worse outcomes in the future. 3. Even though the case studies will tend to present a comprehensive picture of the case with details, you will need to carry out additional research on the case and the topic. For Week Three, please post in the appropriate discussion board a list of 5 different sources that will help you analyze the case. These sources can be articles about the events of the case itself, or they can be articles about the organizational behavior topics that are relevant to the case. For example, in the case of the executive compensation package, you will benefit from sources that talk about how executive compensation packages are designed, or about motivation of top executives. In the case of the case on student attendance at campus events, a good topic for additional sources can be the role that sports teams play in university/college culture in the United States. 4. Prepare and submit an outline of the final report in Week Four. The content of the report is based on the Five Key Questions listed above. The outline should be a couple of pages and include brief, initial answers to the questions. Please remember that you do NOT need to write the paper using the exact phrasing of the questions. You can structure the paper in any way that makes sense to you, so long as the five questions are addressed. The outline’s purpose is for you to have a guide for writing the final report (and for the presentation), so that you can then use my feedback and the remainder of the term to build on it towards your final submissions. 5. Prepare and submit your PowerPoint presentation with a summary of your analysis of the case and recommendations. The presentation should: • Include 10 to 12 slides. • Follow the 5/5/5 rule: no more than five words per line of text, five lines of text per slide, or five text-heavy slides in a row. Feel free to use images and your imagination to make the presentation appealing and engaging! • Add speaker notes in the notes section for each slide. See how here. The purpose of the speaker notes is to serve as reference for the person giving the presentation. The speaker should not read directly from the slides, but use the notes to add key content to the presentation • Record your voice into the presentation. See how here. The objective is for you to add your voice, just the sound (video not necessary). I suggest you practice beforehand. The slides with your voice over will be the closest alternative to a live presentation. 6. Write the final report with your analysis and recommendations. Please make sure you write the paper in APA style, including a cover page, citations, and references. Do not include a source in the list of references at the end if you have not cited it in the body of the paper. Always refer to the outline you wrote and the Five Key Questions. The paper should be 5 pages of content, not including cover page and list of references. Due by Sunday 11:59 PM EST.

For this paper, I will prepare a final report after selecting a case titled “Green leaf Grocery-Executive Compensation” and refer the case study to the five key questions such as “the issue, context of the problem, facts to consider, alternatives for decision making and recommendation.” The Issue The main issue in this article is about compensation and I need to be precise here that is salary pay. The pay was so low that Jack the CEO was looking for an opportunity to move to other international organizations or competitors' companies. The same thing goes to the salary of the employees and this is why there was a push back by employees and long-term customers. Failure to quickly respond to this can make the company Green leaf lose its CEO and other great talents in the organization.
